Dai Cha Kai Sunday, October 19, 2008 The Hakone Foundation is proud to host the eighth Hakone Daichakai on October 19, 2008 at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, California. The Hakone Daichakai is one of the most important and enjoyable tea events in the greater bay area: important in that it brings together tea practitioners of different tea traditions and enjoyable in the beauty and suitability of its location and enthusiasm of its participants. The hope is that all who practice tea will desire to attend in order to share tea with their fellow practitioners at one of the few sites where this type of event is possible outside of Japan. This year those who practice Omotesenke, Urasenke, Mushanokoji, Yabunouchi and Matsuoryu will be hosting thin or thick tea at various garden sites. If you would like to participate by being a host at your own site please contact John Larissou. Anyone wishing to attend should PRE-REGISTER BY OCTOBER 10, 2008 by filling out the registration form and sending it along with a check made out to Hakone Foundation for $50, per person attending, to Hakone Daichakai c/o John Larissou, 2651-25th Ave, San Francisco CA 94116-2904.
